Government Affairs Committee - What we do for you, and how you can help!


The El Dorado County Association of Realtors® Government Affairs Committee (GAC) works for YOU in the
following ways, works to fight against...

Fights point of sale Retrofits.
Fights against rent control.
Was successful in passage of Prop 90/110, in place from 2010
to September 2018.
Sought to prevent the passage of Ballots measures M, N, O, E and G, pertaining to traffic, water, and zoning; all of which would have increased local fees and/or taken away property rights.

 

GAC Successfully Lobbied... Government Affairs Committee, and what we do for YOU!
... To secure additional Water Rights.
...for the constructive notice filing of newly approved mobile/manufactured homes under hardship permit.
...for a home occupation ordinance, allowing members to work from their homes & have an assistant /
employee.
...for an increase of square footage for accessory dwelling units to 1,600 SqFt.
...for guest houses in addition to second accessory dwelling unit.
...for comprehensive vacation home rental ordinance.
... the District Attorney’s office on real estate Fraud & promoted keeping recording fees low.
...for the allowance of temporary real estate signs such as A-frame/Tent/Open House Signs in most recent sign ordinance.
...for the construction of single family homes for moderate income earners & seniors.

The EDCAR GAC is the Government Affairs Committee, acting as the cornerstone in our local government to protect the way you do business.


We Identify & support local candidates and offices who have an impact on our ability to do business. The GAC determines those who closely align with EDCAR’s Mission Statement to preserve and protect private property rights, and inform our members of our recommendations.

There are many levels of contribution to help our cause, which supports issues locally in El Dorado County, statewide, and nationally. Contribute to the Realtor® Action Fund, and we will continue to work for you and your clients best interest! Also make sure to respond to Calls for Action from EDCAR, CAR & NAR!
